On January 18, in Washington, DC, ODG President Chris Cathcart received The Martin Luther King, Jr. Achievement Award at the 19th Annual Dr. King Commemorative Celebration. Hosted each MLK Day by the Development Roundtable for Upward Mobility (DRUM), an organization of Black male executives from Verizon, the event pays tribute to community service and awards scholarships to college and college-bound students.

In April 2008, ODG President Chris Cathcart was honored by Brooklyn, NY's Brown Memorial Baptist Church for "dedicated service to the community." OneDiaspora Speaks at CITE/Verizon Workshop

On May 24-26, 2007
Chris Cathcart spoke at The Consortium of Information & Telecommunications Executives, Inc.’s (CITE) annual conference in New York City.  CITE is an organization of Verizon’s Black executives and draws hundreds of conveners from around the nation.

Over the course of two days, Cathcart conducted a town hall meeting for high school students in CITE’s youth program and presented three workshops on personal brand marketing to the general attendees.

OneDiaspora Hosts Reception for the Black AIDS Institute - Washington, DC 2006

On Sept. 6, 2006 Chris Cathcart and OneDiaspora Group hosted a fundraiser in Washington, DC for the Black AIDS Institute (BAI). The event, held during the week of the Legislative Black Caucus, attracted a cross section of leaders, businesspersons, community activists, students and other concerned folk, and raised several thousand dollars for the organization. Cathcart serves as a Board Member for BAI.
